Los líquidos iónicos como una alternativa a la captura de CO2 en postcombustión
pp. 2-5
M.P. Gimeno, M.C. Mayoral, J.M. Andrés
ABSTRACT: Anthropogenic CO2 emissions come mainly from combustion processes such as the energy production from fossil fuels. Therefore, the control CO2 emissions from these sources by capture and storage should be extremely important to minimize CO2 contribution to climate change without stifling economic and technological development.
Aplicación de modelos difusionales y modelos cinéticos en la interpretación de las cinéticas de adsorción de piridina sobre carbón activado granular
pp. 6-10
R. Ocampo-Pérez, R. Leyva-Ramos, J. V. Flores-Cano, E. Padilla-Ortega
ABSTRACT: In this work, a surface diffusion model (SDM) obtained in a previous work was validated in a wide range of experimental conditions to predict the adsorption kinetics of pyridine on activated carbon.
Production of carbon black from the waste tires pyrolysis
pp. 10-14
J. D. Martínez, R. Murillo, T. García
ABSTRACT: Waste tires have been valorized by pyrolysis using a pilot scale facility with a nominal capacity of 150 kWth. More than 500 kg of shredded waste tires were pyrolyzed at 550 ºC using a continuous auger reactor. The char fraction produced, herein named pyrolytic carbon black (CBp) was characterized and submitted to different acidification/basification treatments in order to obtain similar properties to those of commercial carbon blacks.
Microwave-induced synthesis of carbon xerogels for their application as electrodes in supercapacitors
pp. 15-16
E. G. Calvo, Instituto Nacional del Carbón - CSIC
OBJECTIVES AND NOVELTY: Since the discovery of carbon xerogels three decades ago, they have been widely studied by the scientific community due to their many advantages: highly developed porosity, tunable structural and textural characteristics depending on the operating conditions, good conductive properties, different morphologies (powder, monoliths, spheres or films) and high purity, among others.
New water treatment by integrated technologies based on the use of advanced oxidation/reduction processes and activated carbon
pp. 17-18
I. Velo Gala
OBJECTIVES AND NOVELTY: Numerous pharmaceutical compounds are being studied as part of a group of emerging unregulated pollutants that pose a potential risk for ecosystems and human health.
